Are pets allowed?

Pets are allowed at certain homes only. Each property's pet policy is clearly listed on the website. The number of dogs permitted varies by property and is shown on the listing at the time of booking. For homes that allow pets, the following rules apply:

  • No cats or other animals are allowed.
  • Dogs may be permitted depending on property restrictions, upon advance written notification to Acme House Co. at the time of reservation. The number of dogs allowed at a property is visible on the listing at the time of booking. If approved, Guest must sign the Pet Addendum and pay an additional non-refundable pet fee.
  • No puppies or dogs under one year of age are allowed without prior approval.
  • Per Acme's insurance, potentially dangerous breeds are not allowed and include but are not limited to Dalmatians, Boxers, Presa Canarios, Chow Chows, Doberman Pinschers, Malamutes, Huskies, Rottweilers, German Shepherds, Pit Bulls, Pit Bull mixes, and any dog determined by prior behavior to be a "dangerous dog."
  • An unauthorized pet will result in termination of the occupant's stay.
  • Pets must be fit to travel and have had all normal shots and vaccinations for travel/boarding.
  • Guest is responsible for all damage and/or odors relating to pets. The pet fee covers only reasonable monitoring of occupancy and cleaning following a pet's occupancy. The cost of additional cleaning, damage, and/or odor removal will be due from the occupant and charged to the credit card on file.
  • If excessive barking or other noise results in neighborhood complaints and/or law enforcement response, Guest and Occupants will be required to kennel their dog for the remainder of the stay.
  • Upon use of the premises, if the Guest or Occupant's pet does not match the size, age, breed, or description provided, the lodging cannot continue, and the entire pet fee and total lodging amount will be forfeited.

Can I add extra days to my reservation?

Absolutely! If the dates are available, we'd love to have you extend your stay either before or after your scheduled dates. Please call or text us to request availability and rates at (866) 840-9552.

Can we have a party?

No, parties are not allowed. However, smaller, more intimate gatherings are permitted as long as they adhere to the maximum daytime and overnight occupancy limits specified in the rental agreement. The homes are located in residential communities, with most neighboring properties owner-occupied. To maintain peace in the neighborhood, large parties, loud gatherings, and events are not permitted. The rental property is intended solely for residential use during a family vacation. Occupants must comply with all local noise ordinances and any community rules and regulations, which are posted in the home. For more details, contact reservations at (866) 840-9552.

Do all homes include high-speed internet?

Yes, all homes offer high-speed internet access, including Wi-Fi.

Do homes offer air conditioning and heating?

All homes have heating. Most homes also offer central air conditioning; however, in some of our cooler mountain markets, air conditioning may be limited or unavailable. Each property's listing details its climate-control features, and some homes also feature mini-split air conditioning and heating units in certain rooms.

Do you offer discounts?

Yes, discounts and specials are offered throughout the year and are listed on the Promotions page and Last Minute Deals page of the website. Contact reservations at (866) 840-9552 to learn more. Discounts cannot be combined and can only be applied to new reservations. You can also sign up for Acme House Co.'s monthly emails to be the first to know about upcoming specials and promotions by enrolling in "Sign Up For Deals" at the bottom of the homepage.

How do I make a reservation?

There are several ways to book directly to ensure you get the best rates available. You can book online at acmehouseco.com by entering your arrival and departure dates and clicking "search," or browse specific available properties and follow the booking instructions. You can also call (866) 840-9552 and the reservations team will assist you. The reservations team is available Monday to Friday 8:30 am to 6:30 pm, Saturday 8:30 am to 5:00 pm, and Sunday 8:00 am to 4:30 pm (Pacific Time). You can also reach the team by email.

How far in advance can I make a reservation?

Reservations can be made up to one year in advance.

If I book online, when is my reservation confirmed?

Your reservation is confirmed once we receive your credit card payment, the signed rental agreement, and a copy of your valid government-issued ID.

Is housekeeping service included?

All homes are professionally cleaned before arrival and after departure. Mid-stay cleaning service is available for an additional charge with advance notice, when possible. Please inquire with reservations when booking, or call (866) 840-9552 to schedule a mid-stay cleaning.

Is someone available if we have questions while occupying the home?

Yes. One of the great benefits of choosing Acme House Co. is the attentive, reliable service. Responsive property managers are on call and available 24/7, 365 days a year. During your stay, you will have access to a detailed electronic house manual via a QR code displayed prominently in the home, providing property operating instructions. The Acme House Co. team is also available by phone or email.

Is there a lost and found?

Yes. If you leave something behind and we find it, we will contact you to arrange shipping. Lost and found items are held for 30 days; after that, unclaimed items will be donated.

What amenities are at the homes?

All homes are privately owned and furnished according to the owner's taste and needs, so accommodations and amenities may vary. However, Acme House Co. properties adhere to an amenity assurance list to ensure guests' comfort and satisfaction. The following items are included in all rental homes:

  • Quality bedspreads, sheets, blankets, and pillows
  • Bath towels, washcloths, bath mats, pool towels, and kitchen towels
  • Refrigerator, stove, microwave, toaster, coffee maker, pots & pans, dishes, utensils, and sponges
  • Television(s) with basic cable or streaming service — or a smart TV or smart device where guests can sign into their own accounts (some homes with upgraded options) — plus iron and ironing board, fire extinguisher, smoke detector, and carbon monoxide alarms
  • Complimentary starter kit of body wash, shampoo, conditioner, lotion, liquid soap, and dish soap; a hair dryer in every bathroom; paper towels, toilet paper, and trash liners
  • Yard area with a natural gas or propane BBQ (first tank of propane provided by Acme House Co.), poolside lounge chairs, and an outdoor dining area
  • Washer and dryer, with a starter kit of laundry detergent
  • Some homes may also include additional fun amenities.

For families with small children, baby gear such as full-sized cribs, infant cribs, baby monitors, crib/pack-n-play linens, baby joggers, baby gates, bed rails, and/or wagons may be available to rent — please ask reservations for current options and availability.

What about parking?

Parking varies at each home. Please refer to the individual house manual for specific parking instructions. Some designated parking spots may not accommodate large cars, trucks, or SUVs, so please inquire about parking accommodations prior to booking if you have an extra-large vehicle. Local parking rules and limits vary by community, so check the house manual for any restrictions that apply at your home.

What are check-in and check-out times?

Check-in is 4:00 pm

Check-out is 10:00 am

To request an early check-in or late check-out, contact reservations by calling (866) 840-9552 before your arrival or departure time to receive written confirmation of approval. Permission is typically granted if the property is available, with an additional fee. This request cannot be confirmed more than one week before your stay, as we may not yet know whether the property will have another arrival or departure on your selected days.

What are your hours?

We have 24/7 live agent assistance, with an on-site property support team available from 8 am to 7 pm daily. We provide phone and text support at your rental property from 8 am to 7 pm and are fully equipped to handle all reported matters, including dispatching teams for on-site assistance. From 7 pm to 8 am, services transition to off-hours support, limited to text and phone assistance. Live dispatch during these hours is reserved for emergencies only.

What do you suggest bringing?

The desert averages around 70°F in the winter months, with summer highs reaching the 100s. If you are visiting between November and March, pack a few warmer layers and a light jacket for cooler evenings.

During the summer, staying hydrated is essential, especially during outdoor activities. Be prepared for the heat with sunscreen, hats, and sunglasses, and bring light, breathable clothing and a refillable water bottle.

What if I need to cancel?

Cancellation policy for Short-Term Stays (28 nights or less)

Direct bookings on acmehouseco.com or via phone for stays of 28 nights or less:

  • 100% refund for cancellations within 48 hours of making the booking.
  • 30 days or more prior to the arrival date — a 100% refund of all Reservation Charges, except the Booking Fee.
  • Greater than 48 hours from booking and between 8 and 29 days prior to arrival — a partial refund of 50% of all Reservation Charges, except the Booking Fee.
  • 7 days or less prior to arrival — 100% of all Reservation Charges are considered earned.

Cancellation policy for Long-Term Stays (29 nights or longer)

Direct bookings on acmehouseco.com or via phone for stays of 29 nights or longer:

  • Greater than 6 months prior to arrival — a 100% refund.
  • Greater than 91 days and less than 6 months prior to arrival — a 100% refund of all Reservation Charges, except the Booking Fee.
  • Greater than 60 days but less than 91 days prior to arrival — a partial refund of 50% of the Reservation Charges and Booking Fee. All other costs and fees are refunded, including cleaning fees, security deposit, and any utility fees. Any special services ordered that cannot be canceled in time to receive a refund will also not be refunded.

Bookings on third-party websites: If you do not book directly with Acme House Co. (acmehouseco.com), your reservation is subject to the cancellation policies of the website on which you booked. Please refer to that site's cancellation policy.

Do I need travel insurance for a vacation rental?

To ensure peace of mind during your trip, consider protecting your investment with travel insurance through Rental Guardian. The deadline to purchase coverage is 60 days prior to your trip. For more details or to purchase coverage, add travel insurance during checkout or contact reservations at (866) 840-9552. Investing in travel insurance is an important step toward a worry-free vacation.

What methods of payment do you accept?

We accept Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover, and wire transfers.

When are the pools heated?

Pools are typically heated from mid-October through June 1st for an additional fee. You can also request pool heating outside of these dates for an extra cost, which varies based on pool size, desired temperature, and other factors. Spa heating is included at no extra charge.
